Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: Demanding equal pay for equal work, block grant teachers and employees of Odisha on Monday had a rift with the police at the LOWER PMG Square in the capital.
The police in the connection have arrested about 50 agitated block grant teachers. The incident happened when the group of teachers was marching from master canteen square to Assembly.
They demanded saying that teachers with equal qualifications and equal experience should get equal pay grade. Though the apex court has already announced equal pay for equal work, the government is yet to wake up and take the step, said sources.
