Keonjhar, Dec 13: The special Vigilance court in the district on Monday didn’t give any decision on the bail plea of Deepak Gupta, the prime accused in the Uliburu Mining scam.

The court yesterday concluded it’s hearing on Monday saying that the verdict will be reserved till December 16.

While earlier the High Court and the Supreme Court have both rejected Gupta’s bail plea, he had again appealed for the bail on December 6 after the vigilance had submitted its charge sheet in the case.

Notably Gupta was earlier arrested in a Rs 1800 crore mining scam on September 4, 2013. He was operating B K Mohanty’s Iron Ore Mine as the Power of Attorney and had mined 45.22 lakh tons of iron ore and manganese beyond the lease area between 2003-2010, violating forest and mining laws.
