Sambalpur: July 30: On Sunday, as many as 400 artists of more than 25 cultural organizations will together perform on the streets stretching from Head Post Office till the Nelson Mandela Chhak, to showcase their art between 9 am to 1 pm. The programme named as “Bate Ghate” has been dedicated to Satyanarayana Bohidar, the doyen of Sambalpuri literature and grammar, said a coordinator of the programme. Sambalpuri dance, music, poetry recitation, street plays, paintings and photography exhibition will be also be a part of the programme. A fashion show will also be organized to promote Sambalpuri sarees and dresses. Sambalpuri ‘Dhaga Dhamali’ (phrases) will also be displayed on the road. There will also be food stalls selling food on the road. The birth anniversary of Satyanarayana Bohidar will be celebrated on August 1.
