Biju Centenary event; 6,000 NROs in Bengaluru to participate in the event

Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: In a programme being organised by the Odisha Government in Bengaluru on August 26 at the Palace Ground to mark the Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary, around 6,000 Non Resident Odias (NROs) staying in Bengaluru would participate in the programme.

According to sources, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be attending the programme.

To take stock of the preparations going on in Bengaluru for the grand occasion, three Odisha Ministers Debi Prasad Mishra, Pranab Prakash Das and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak visited Bengaluru.

The centenary would be organised with the involvement and help of the Odia people living in the city, Odia Associations and local cultural associations. Besides, the Odia Association of Bengaluru has formed a committee to organize the centenary at a separate venue.

The road show ‘Invest Orissa’ in Bengaluru, organized by the State Government on August 26 morning would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who would also have one-to-one meeting with some big players. The road show has been organized in a bid to attract investments in IT, electronics and bio-technology sector.

The policy initiatives and facilities being provided at Infovalley in Bhubaneswar and National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ), Kalinganagar by the State Government, would be highlighted by in the event. Also, focus will be given to IT and electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
