Bhubaneswar, May 9: On Monday, at a press meet here, the BJP lashed out on the Congress and BJD accusing that both parties in Odisha have entered into a ‘secret alliance’ ahead of the 2019 Odisha general elections. This was blamed by vice-president of Odisha unit, Sameer Mohanty. He further said that it seems as if the CM will be electing the next OPCC chief.
On the other hand, BJD refuted such allegations and said that CM’s meeting and Congress party meeting are two completely different and matter of alliance are rubbish. BJD spokesperson Samir Dash informed this to media. He further commented taking a dig on BJP that if BJP really thinks that there is a alliance between BJD and Congress, then they should have suggested the Center to call the Anti-naxal meet on some other day rather than on the day when the Congress leaders are supposed to meet Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
The BJP has also blamed the Naveen led government on charges of conducting the Cabinet reshuffle keeping in mind only the interest of his own party rather taking the state’s well-being into consideration. BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma said that the ministers who are involved in various controversies and issues have been given a place in the ministry. For instance, he said that the man who has been accused of grabbing the Swargadwar and Sipasarubali land and has also conspired to give forest land to Vedanta, has been given the Revenue post. The person who is known to be a law breaker and who has refused to submit the details of his wife’s property to Election Commission, has been give the charges of the law department. The man who is responsible for the failure of tiger project in Odisha has become the Forest minister and most importantly, the man who is least bothered about the farmers’ committing suicides and other matter related to Agriculture and irrigation and farming has been posted at the Agricultural department. Sharma further went on to point out that the reason that CM did not include the backward districts into the ministry was because the people in those areas had voted in favor of BJP at the Panchayat Polls. Even the districts which late Biju Babu had put his hands on have not been included.
