Cuttack, Dec 9: Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Central Range Akhila Bihari Ota on Thursday holding a review meeting has directed to install card swipe machines/POS machines at SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) to facilitate cashless transaction following the central government’s directive to do so at various government offices here. It has been decided to install POS machine at the user’s counter in the first phase. While the AXIS Bank has come forward to provide free machines, it was decided in the meeting to ask SBI for the facility where the SCBMCH has its account.
Between the two, the better proposal provider will be permitted to install machines. In the primary phase, the machine will be installed at one counter of the users’ fee collection centre, said SCBMCH superintendent Dr Pratap Rath. Considering the increase in number of patients coming to SCBMCH, it has been decided to open a second counter of Regional Diagnostic Centre in front of Casualty Department. The new diagnostic centre will be opened around December 25, he added.
