Bhubaneswar, March 18: Work on Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar plant is unlikely to start immediately, said TV Narendran, company’s Managing Director in Kolkata on Thursday.
Narendran, addressing media persons said the focus of the steel major is on stabilising the first phase of the Kalinganar unit.
“Depending on the cash flow and current demand plan, the second phase will be planned. The immediate focus is to stabilise phase 1 first,” he said.
The Kalinganagar unit has an annual capacity of three million tonnes. The second phase will have another three million tonne capacity.
