Gowahati: February 19: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, the Central government is willing to talk to the farmers protesting against the three farm laws. Adressing a Press Conference, he said, Government of India has always called for clause by clause discussions with the farmers on three farm laws. But, Minister did not comment on when the talks are likely to resume between Farmers’ and Government.
Tomar, is the BJP’s election in-charge for poll-bound Assam.
Replying a question, he denied any link between BJPs loss in the Punjab civic polls and the farmers’ protest.
Minister also briefed that the recent Union Budget has proposed a number of schemes for the welfare of the farming community.
Assam is going to polls in April-May this year, the opposition parties are all set to make the farmers’ issue a major agenda.
