Collectors order new investigation into Kalahandi’s shocking incident

Bhubaneswar, Aug 27: After Kalahandi Sub-Collector, Sukant Tripathy submitted a preliminary inquiry report into the shocking incident of Dana Majhi, Collector Brunda  yesterday ordered the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to conduct a fresh investigation and submit report within seven days.

Notably, yesterday morning the Collector had ordered for an inquiry asking the Sub-Collector to submit a report by the evening. Sub-Collector Tripathy had accordingly submitted the report in the evening for the Collector’s examination.

CDMO Brajakishore Brahma had informed the media on Thursday that Majhi had taken away his wife late at night on Tuesday presuming her to be dead without informing the attendant. The CDMO’s statement had been termed as irresponsible and had drawn flak from all quarters.
