Balasore, Mar 15: On Tuesday a local court here sentenced life imprisonment to a person for killing a villager three years back. A fine of Rs 5,000 has also been asked by the District judge here, Biranchi Narayan Mahanty to be paid by the convict Purusottam Sing. If he fails to do so, he would be sentenced for an additional 1 year jail term. As per the prosecution, on Dec 24, 2014, Purusottam Sing had beheaded Dukha Sing with an axe in a village under Rajbarhmpur police station. Sing then carried the beheaded head to the Raj Berhampur police station and surrendered saying that the victim practised sorcery and his family was suffering because of this.
