DRDO Chandipur Espinage Case: One more staff arrested

Police arrested one more staff of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Chandipur, in connection with espionage case.

The arrested person is Sachin Kumar, a Driver at Chandipur.

With this, Police has already arrested five staffs of DRDO, Chandipur, in connection with espionage case.

Earlier on Tuesday, Odisha Police had arrested four contractual employees of DRDO, Chandipur. The arrested persons were: Basanta Behera, AC operator; Hemanta Kumar Mistri, diesel genset operator; Tapas Ranjan Nayak, employee at ITR main gate; and Sk. Musafir, AC operator.

The four have been booked under sections 120-B/121-A/34 of the Indian Penal Code and sent on a 14-day judicial custody.

The case was handed over to the State Crime Branch on Wednesday.

As alleged, these arrested persons were honey-trapped and supplying information to an ISI agent.
