Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the extreme heat wave condition in Odisha, yellow warning has been issued to as many as 13 districts for today for heat and humidity.
The entire state of Odisha is sweltering in the heat. The temperature crossed 40 degrees Celsius at as many as 19 places of the State.
In the last 24 hours, Sambalpur has become the hottest city with 43.2 degrees. The mercury has reached 42.5 degrees in Titilagarh and 42 degrees in Balangir.
Similarly, temperature has reached 41.7 degrees in Angul, 40.4 degrees in Baripada and 41.6 degrees in Jharsuguda. The highest temperature of this year has been recorded in Bhubaneswar for the first time at 40.7 degrees yesterday.
Due to the high humidity in the atmosphere, extreme heat and humidity are being experienced. The Meteorological Department has estimated that extreme heat will be experienced in most districts of the state till the 15th of May.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees for the next 3 days. Yellow alert has been issued for 13 districts today due to heat and humidity. Similarly, 19 districts have been alerted for tomorrow.
