Baripada, June 3: The much talked JE virus which affected villages in Malkangiri taking lives of over 100 children has now reached Mayurbhanj.
As of report, one Deepak Singh (8) of Kuamara village in the district has been affected with the deadly virus. After being affected, Deepak’s blood sample was sent to Cuttack Sishu Bhawan for test. After the reports came positive, he was soon admitted to the hospital for treatment.
After the news spread, the state government acting on an urgent basis has sent a team of doctors to the village to collect blood samples and to inform the villagers about the virus and the disease.
On the other hand, Singh’s family has demanded the state government to take care of all treatment expenses.
