Puri, Dec 21: Gyanendra Shah, the former king of Nepal is likely to visit Puri to attend the installation ceremony of the new idol of Goddess Bimala within the premises of Goverdha peeth- the seat of Shankaracharya Jagadguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswati in Jan 2017.

As per sources, the installation ceremony would begin on Jan 18 and will continue for three days till Jan 20. The Govardhan Peeth authorities had sent an invitation to the king of Nepal for attending this holy ceremony to which the king has given his consent. The officials have taken this initiative as the royal family of the king have some special rites to worship Lord Jagannath at the Sri Jagannath Temple (Sri Mandir) akin to that of the Gajapati, who is the first servitor of Lord Jagannath.
