Bhubaneswar, April 5: The Kyrgyz woman arrested on March 23 by the Commissionerate police for her alleged involvement in immoral activities was handed over to an embassy official of her country who arrived here from New Delhi on Tuesday. On arrival in the State capital this morning, the lady official rushed to Chandrasekharpur police station and spoke to the officials. She also visited Ruchika Helpline where the woman was sheltered after her arrest from a flat in Chandrasekharpur area. The official talked to members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and enquired about her health. Later, the woman was handed over to the official.
“We are providing the lady officer with all basic requirements,” an official of the Commissionerate police said. Sources said though her visa was valid up to March 31, the Kyrgyz embassy is likely to facilitate her travel to New Delhi. She was issued a Kyrgyz passport in the first week of February this year and an Indian tourist visa a few days later. The woman, aged 31 years, had arrived in New Delhi on February 25 and reached the State capital on March 22, a day before she was rescued by the cops.
