Mahanadi Issue: BJD to hold protest from July 25 in 15 districts

Bhubaneswar, July 23: To protest against Chhattisgarh’ proposed barrage on the upper catchment of the Mahanadi River, the ruling party has decided to stage a protest from July 25 till August 11 in 15 districts. BJD has demanded the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Central government intervention in this matter and to stop the project work immediately.  

A protest by the young wing of BJD would also be held from July 25.

A legal fight would be done if the CWC does not intervene in this matter, Acharya informed.

“In protest against the Central government’s callousness and Chhattisgarh government’s irresponsible behavior, BJD will launch the protest in 15 districts from July 25,” said Sanjay Dasburma at the press meet.
