Bhubaneswar, June 2: The commissionerate police today achieved a great success out of many ahead by arresting the main consultant behind the much talked SOA University placement scam.
Identified as Manas Nayak, the accused who acted as the main facilitator was arrested by the police from Puri early today. As of sources, Manas was the mediator between the SOA University and various other fake companies through consultancy firms.
Notably, above 400 students of the SOA university were given fake Job offer letters for companies like Huawei, Honeywell, Mitsubishi etc. Regarding this the commissionerate police had earlier arrested the placement Dean of ITER, Raj Kishore Hota on May 26. After a brief interrogation with Hota, the police revealed that there is a big gang working behind the fake placement racket and about 25 people have been identified and the search is on to nab them.
The interrogation is on, while further details are awaited.
