Bhubaneswar: For illegal hunting / catching of deer, a man has been arrested by the forest department officials yesterday from the Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary.
Identified as Jyotiranjan Mohanty, the accused a resident of Daruthenga Village, along with two of his friends had gone to the forest to hunt a wild animal for feasting on the eve of Utkal Divas. But unfortunately, the forest patrolling team of the Department caught them before they could hunt. While Mohanty was arrested, the other two fled the spot.
The Authorities have seized a gun, live bullets, explosives and a tiger claw pendant from the accused’s possession.
