Man Dressed as Radhe Maa robs Hotelier in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: Earlier yesterday the twin city Commissionerate police arrested a fraudster from Angul for allegedly cheating a Bhubaneswar based hotel owner a week ago.

Identified as Soumyaranjan Pradhan, the accused had approached the victim Samarendra Parija saying that he would change his fortune through Puja as he had powers attained at Kamakhya Shakti Peetha in Assam.

Parija fell for his words and a Puja was organized on 5th of December after he checked into the hotel on 4th. The man dressed in salwar, looking like a eunuch named he as Diana Mishra. Parija and his wife sat in the puja. During the Puja the couple gave three gold chains and 2 lockets to the eunuch, which were put in a packet. During the Puja the accused secretly exchanged the packet with another and asked the couple to open the packet only after 3 days. He was also given an amount of Rs 6000 cash and an amount of Rs was also deposited to his account as donation.

Later after 3 days when the couple opened the packet, finding no jewels they got to know that they were cheated and they filed a case at the infocity police station.

After a police investigation Soumyaranjan Pradhan from Angul was arrested yesterday. The police suspected that he was involved in such kind of incidents. Meanwhile the police found 3 gold chains with 2 lockets and two mobile phones, Rs 6000 cash, Voter ID, Aadhar card from him.
