The people across Odisha today celebrated Ganesh Puja with traditional enthusiasm and fervour.
Students and traders in the entire state worshipped the elephant-god in temples and specially erected pandals.
Enthusiasm was witnessed among the trading community and students.
Wearing new clothes, students went to their schools to offer puspanjali to Lord Ganesh to fair well in their academic life while traders worshipped to prosper in business.
In the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar alone over five hundred pandals have been set up by students, traders and local youths.
Rs 50,000 to Rs five lakh has been spent on each pandal for the Puja.
Police made elaborate arrangement to avoid any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
