Odisha CM conducts an aerial survey of flood hit areas

Bhubaneswar: October 13: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts to have a look regarding the damage and loss of properties due to flash flood triggered by the severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’. After coming from his visit, Chief Minister attended a review meeting at the State Secretariat with Chief Secretary, Special Relief Commissioner, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of different departments. ‘Agricultural crops, roads & Electricity transmission system have suffered much’, CM said in review meeting.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnik said, ‘All affected families of Ganjam, Gajapati and Gunupur Sub-division of Rayagada will be given relief for 15 days. On an average, a family of four members will be assisted with more than three thousand rupees as relief. This is at the rate of rupees sixty per adult and rupees fourty-five per child per day.’

‘Connectivity will be restored in all cut off areas within next 48 hours. Electricity supply to 90% of the affected areas will be ensured in next 48 hours and remaining 10% areas in 3-5 days’, CM informed the Media.

Speaking on the drinking water supply, Naveen Patnaik said, ‘Safe drinking water will be provided in all block areas within 48 hours. All tube wells will be repaired by tomorrow. In the next 24 hours, water supply will be restored in all urban areas.’

Also, Chief Minister informed that, House damage and Crop damage assessment will start once the immediate relief and restoration measures are completed.
