Bhubaneswar, Apr 8: Yesterday the state government reviewed the two dysfunctional paper mills in Odisha that had put the livelihoods of a lot of people at stake. Industries minister met the officials of the Bilt Sewa Paper Mill in Jeypore and Orient Paper Mill in Brajarajnagar in the state and also met the people’s representatives from the area. The minister also asked for a report stating as to why the Bilt Paper mill got closed down from the officials within 20 days. Likewise, a report has been asked on the reasons why the Orient paper mill also in a similar state since the past 17 years within two months. The CGM of Bilt Sewa Paper Mill, DP Dewan informed this and also said that the report must mention the revival and modernisation plan outlining the minimum level of activity which can be achieved so that the government feels confident to provide adequate support to the mills. On the other hand, Industries minister, Debi Prasad Mishra stated to media that the government will do whatever possible and convenient only if a proper detail plan on the improvement and modernisation of the plants is given.
