Odisha Police assisting pedestrian migrant labour to reach Odisha Boarder

Cuttack: May 14: Large number of migrant labours are transiting through Odisha by foot to reach their Home States in West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

To assist these migrants reach the State Borders, as a part of Odisha Govt initiative Odisha Police is using buses from important Border Check Points  like Sohela, Girisola and Kerada to carry the migrants to the border points.

On the evening of 13/05/2020, six buses carrying more than 250 migrants labours who were walking through the state dropped them on the State Borders.

Two buses from Sohela dropped migrants of Jharkhand at Biramitrapur and migrants of West Bengal in Jamsola, Mayurbhanj, two buses from Kerada, Rayagada dropped migrants of Chhattisgarh at border points in Nabarangapur and Nuapada, where as two buses from Girisola, Berhampur dropped migrants of West Bengal at Jamsola, Mayurbhanj.
