Bhubaneswar: August 8: Odisha registered 1643 fresh COVID-19 Positive cases in last 24 hours. As per the information provided in Health & Family Welfare Department’ s website, out of 1643 new cases, 1018 cases were in Quarantine and rest 625 are Local Contact Cases. With this, total cases in the State increased to 44,193.
Ganjam & Khurda have reported 274 new cases each in last 24 hours. Besides, 136 have been reported from Rayagada, 118 from Sundergarh, 112 from Sambalpur, 98 from Cuttack, 92 from Puri, 73 from Balasore, 52 from Kandhamal, 50 from Koraput, 43 from Bolangir, 40 from Nayagarh, 39 from Mayurbhanj, 36 each from Dhenkanal & Jajpur, 35 from Gajapati, 30 from Kalahandi, 27 from Malkangiri, 21 from Jagatsinghpur, 16 from Angul, 14 from Kendrapara, 7 each from Bargarh & Boudh, 5 from Nabarangpur, 3 from Keonjhar, 2 each from Bhadrak & Jharsuguda and one from Nuapada District.
28,698 patients have recovered from the disease so far and 15,188 patients are under treatment.
In 24 hours, 12 patients have died due to Coronavirus, taking State’s death toll to 259.
Also, another 48 COVID Positive patients have died so far due to other illnesses.
