Odisha reported 5901 fresh Covid-19 cases today, taking State’s total (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 12,31,169. Of 5901 new cases, 739 are in the age group of 0-18 years of age. Also, as informed by Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department, 3413 of fresh cases were in quarantine and 2482 are local contact cases.
Khurda District reported 1430 new cases, followed by 545 cases from Sundergarh, 402 from Cuttack and 300 from Balasore.
10,078 patients have recovered from the disease yesterday and with this, total recoveries reached 11,52,239.

Current Active Caseload increased to 70,327.
8 persons succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, pushing the total death toll to 8550.
63,209 swab tests have been conducted in last 24 hours and 5901 samples are found to be positive. Daily Positivity Rate remains at 9.33 per cent.
