Odisha: Schools, Colleges To Reopen From February 7
Odisha Government announced opening of schools, colleges and hostels from February 7. With this, debate and discussions on the opening of schools are over. After a gap of 2 years around, students of Class I to Class VII will be back to classrooms from Feb 14.
Students of Class VIII and onwards will attend school from Feb 07.

Government Of Odisha Order said, ‘In view of the decreasing trend in Covid-19 positive cases and to mitigate the impact of learning loss of the students to the extent possible, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 24(1) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 read with Rule 8(1) of the Odisha Disaster Management Rules,2010, in partial modification of all earlier orders, in the larger interest of the student community of the State, the State Government do hereby promulgate the following orders:
All Educational Institutions, imparting any type of education of the level of Class – 8 and above including schools, colleges, IT s, Polytechnics, Degree Colleges and Professional Colleges and Universities, should start physical classroom teaching with effect from 7th February 2022.
Classes from 1 to Std. 7 may re-open with effect from 14th February.
The order further said, for the current academic year, students in schools may avail the option of online/ off-line/ hybrid teaching for their classes. For Higher Education Institutions the guidelines as was prevailing just before the closure of such institutions on 10th January, 2022 will apply.
Hostels and other residential facilities should also be opened up as soon as Off-line class begins.
Short-term courses, trainings, workshops, Skill development training programmes , should also be allowed in physical mode w.e.f 07.02.2022.
To complete the courses as decided by respective authorities I regulatory bodies concerned department(s) may notify revised academic year.
Examinations for Classes up to Standard 9 and for promotion of students from Standard 11 to Standard 12 may be done through class assessment. Students may be allowed the option of taking the examination either through offline or online or hybrid mode depending upon the feasibility of the schools.
Examinations for Standard 10 and Standard 12 will be conducted as per the orders and guidelines of respective Boards/ Councils/ Regulatory Authorities.
Examinations in Higher Education Institutions, including Technical and Professional Institutions, may be conducted as per approved guidelines prevailing just before closure of these Institutions on 10th Jan’2022.
The order further added, all Covid appropriate protocol(s) may be followed by the educational institutions to the extent possible.
