OHRC issues notice to Odisha government seeking report over fire breakout in Sum Hospital

Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: Seeking a report on the fire mishap in Sum Hospital, a notice has been issued to the State Health Secretary and Director General of fire services by the Odisha Human Rights Commissions (OHRC) on Tuesday. A time period of three weeks has been given to submit the report.

The notices have been issued after a suo motu case was registered by OHRC over the fire incident.

On the other hand, urging action against authorities of Sum Hospital and officials of State government for negligence in safety measures, a complaint has also been filed by Subash Mohapatra, human right activists with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Based on the complaint, the NHRC today issued a notice to the State Government to submit a report on the fire mishap incident at Sum hospital within six weeks.
