Bhubaneswar, April 14: Ruling Biju Janata Dal Wednesday denied that its proposed workshop for farmers in the State capital was in any way aimed at diverting the attention of the people from the fresh issues the Opposition has been trying to harp in the past few days.

Party spokesman Amar Prasad Satapathy told newsmen that it was not true that the party was trying to divert the attention of the people from the issues such as government’s failure to assuage the grievances of the farmers in the State and alleged links of BJD leaders with tainted chit fund farms and notorious gangsters.

The Congress and BJP have alleged that the workshop is aimed at diverting the attention of the people of the State from the raging issues such as farmers’ suicide and alleged links of BJD leaders with tainted chit fund companies and gangsters.
