Arindam Das dies while reporting from Mahanadi

OTV chief reporter Arindam Das is no more, confirms Cuttack SCB Emergency Officer. One of the finest Reporter of State passed away while covering the rescue operations to save the tusker that got stuck near Munduli Barrage in Cuttack District.

Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) boat capsized in the Mahanadi River while trying to rescue the tusker which was inside the river.

As reported, the Elephants were swept away by heavy currents while crossing Mahanadi River near Munduli Barrage. One of them got stuck in the river while rest got up from the river and reached Nuasasan in Athgarh block of Cuttack district.

ODRAF team with Arindam and the cameraman had entered the river in a boat. All of them were swept away after the boat capsized.

Three ODRAF personnel, Arindam and the cameraman were rescued. Arindam was in critical condition and died.

OTV Cameraman and ODRAF members are undergoing treatment at a Hospital
