Paralekhmundi, Aug 31: Post sixteen days when Parala Maharaja, Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deo was admitted at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, his daughter and Gajapati dynasty successor, Kalyani Devi has requested the hospital authorities to allow him to shift to Bhubaneswar unit’s Apollo Hospital in a week’s time, citing that she is alone at the hospital and it’s becoming difficult to monitor her father’s conditions at regular intervals. Thus, if he’s transferred back to Odisha then taking care of him would become easier.

The doctors have assured to look into the request by the worried daughter and examine the existing facility at Bhubaneswar before taking a call on his transfer. The Maharaja along with his daughter, is accompanied by the son of former Gajapati District BJD president Basanta Dash, Devi Parsad Dash. No other members of the family have visited the ailing king so far. However, Basanta is scheduled to return back to Odisha in a day or two.

In the meantime, the king is stated to be recovering at a very minimum level, as the doctors say that the ailing king who was 35 kgs when he had been hospitalized now weighs 5 kgs more. However, he continues to be bed-ridden with doctors yet to decide on his chemotherapy treatment.
