Paradip, Apr 5: Giving a green signal, the Union ministry of Shipping has allowed the Paradip Port Trust to carry out revenue-yielding scrap import operations. This process will generate extra revenue for the port, said sources.
Along with PPT, the Union Ministry of Shipping has also asked the other ports in India, owned by the government, to undertake the scrap import trade. Private ports like Mundra and Pipavava in Gujurat have also been notified to take such operations to generate extra revenue, said sources.
