Govind Sahu Confesses to killing Mamita Meher
Govinda Sahu, who is the prime suspect in the missing of Kalahandi’s Sunshine School Teacher Mamita Meher, confessed to his crime during the interrogation, informed Bolangir Police.
As per the confession of the Govinda Sahu, Police has detained three other persons including Sahu’s associate Radhe, JCB driver and stadium Munshi. It is alleged that, they all had helped him burying Mamita’s body.
Govinda Sahu had buried the body of Mamita in the under-construction stadium at Mahaling in Kalahandi.
Tuesday Morning, Mamita’s body was exhumed with the help of earthmovers and it took more than two hours to dig a 10 feet deep pit. Police found a charred decomposed body from the stadium and also some belongings like purse and anklet. Further, Mamita’s family members identified the belongings to be of Mamita.
As confessed by Sahu, the pit was dug on October 6, which is before the murder of Mamita. On October 8, Sahu took Mamita in his Car and murdered her inside the car following a violent altercation with her.
Police has seized the car on October 14 and recovered an anklet and a jar containing petrol from the vehicle.
