Bhubaneswar: Jan 23: Congress has lodged FIR against Kendrapara MLA and the Pattamundai BDO alleging that they have done a conspiracy to ensure unopposed win of legislator’s wife as Penthapala samiti member. Today, the State Election Commission (SEC) asked Kendrapara Collector to submit report on the issue. Secretary of State Election Commission informed, ‘Commission has asked the Collector and Observer to give a report on the allegation of forged withdrawal of nomination.’ It is said, two more candidates Gayatri Sethy and Pramila Malik filed nominations from that Panchayat Samittee in Pattamundai Block and later on declared that they have withdrawn from the contest. Following the allegation, tension cropped up in the area. Congress activists’ gheraoed the Block Office claiming that, two candidates have not applied for withdrawal. Reacting on the issue, Congress leader Ganeswar Behera asked, ‘two candidates have never applied for withdrawal, how could it be declared that, they have withdrawn from polls. So, it is a clear case of conspiracy to declare BJD MLA Kishore Tarai’s wife won unopposed.’
