Sonali Phogat Murder Case: Home Ministry Orders CBI Investigation

A CBI investigation into the death of BJP politician Sonali Phogat has been ordered by the Union Home Ministry. Pramod Sawant, the chief minister of Goa, had requested a CBI investigation in a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the action was taken.

On the night of August 22 and August 23, Phogat and her friends enjoyed a party at Curlies in Goa. A day after landing in the coastal state of Goa on August 22, Phogat, a former Tik Tok celebrity and competitor on the reality TV series “Bigg Boss,” was found dead and taken to a hospital in the North Goa district.

The death of Phogat is being investigated as a possible murder. Five people, including two of Phogat’s assistants, have been detained by the Goa Police in connection with the case. Her two assistants have been detained by the police on suspicion of murder.
