Bhubaneswar, Sept 18: The Higher Education Department yesterday issued a notification which stated that the students’ union polls across all colleges and universities here will be conducted on October 5.
Thus, each college and university has asked to issue a notification declaring the same. The issued notification also said that according to the date, the process for the polls would begin from Sept 28 and nomination filing will be held on Sept 29. Withdrawal of names would be done last till Oct 1 and the poll aspirants will have to attend the ‘Why I Stand For’ meet on October 4.
Also voting would start from 8 am and will continue till 2 pm. The results would be declared in the afternoon on Oct 5. The Oath Taking ceremony will be on Oct 6. The notification has also asked the college and universities to conduct the elections with strict adherence to the Lyngdoh Committee recommendation.
