This year Kendra Sahitya Akademi award to be honored to Paramita Satpathy

Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: This year the famous novelist, Paramita Satpathy will be honoured with the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for her novel collection ‘Prapti’. The novel is based on a story that depicts the female section of the Indian society who have earned a name in their respective field of work. Prapti was published in the year 2012 and since its publication, it has been appreciated by a number of readers and has also been published in different languages such as English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu and Marathi. Satpathy has authored various other popular novels as wee such as ‘Narikabi O Anyamane’, ‘Antaranga Chala’, ‘Intimate Pretence’ and ‘Birala Rupaka’.

Earlier, she has also been conferred with the Sea Shore Srijan Samman in 2010, Orissa Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006, Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad Yuva Puraskar, Birla Foundation, Kolkata in 2003, G.Rath Foundation, Orissa Award in 2002 and Bhubaneswar Book Fair Award in 2001.

In 1989, Satpathy joined the Indian Revenue Service and currently she is the Commissioner of the Income Tax Department.
