Transgenders stage protest in Bhubaneswar
Transgenders staged protest in the State Capital demanding justice to Mamita Meher’s family and also action against Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the incident.
They sat on dharna at Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar with placards and shouting slogans. They also burnt effigies of the Minister while protesting in the issue of Mamita Meher murder case.
State BJP has been staging protests/demonstrations in different parts of the State and demanding for the removal of MoS Dibya Shankar Mishra from Ministry.
Congress has also targeted the State Government demanding justice to the deceased’s family and also removal of Minister of State (MoS) Home Dibya Shankar Mishra.
Notably, the body of Mamita was exhumed from a place near Mahaling stadium in the presence of police. Mamita had gone missing since October 8.
Further, Police arrested the prime accused Govind Sahu, who had absconded from police custody on October 17 night. Later, Police nabbed him on October 19. During interrogation, Govinda confessed to his crime.
