Soro, May 27: In a tragic incident, a tourist bus carrying about 30 passengers was hit by a speeding truck on the NH 5 near Maitapur Mahantipokhari in Balasore district late last night.
As of reports, a 70-year-oldman identified as L N Naidu died on the spot while two others have suffered serious injuries.
Notably, the bus which was parked at the stop was carrying pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and was to leave for Vizianagaram via Puri when the truck hit it.
The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
In the meanwhile, the police has started an investigation into the matter, while the driver and helper of the truck are absconding.
