Earlier yesterday, a tunnel was discovered inside Delhi Legislative Assembly, that went underground. According to Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, the tunnel may have been connected to the Red Fort.
Tunnel Under Delhi Assembly
The Britishers used to transport freedom fighters from one place to another through these tunels, added Speaker Goel. Adding to it, he said, during his tenure as an MLA in 1993, he used to hear things about this tunnel, which leads to the Red Fort. However, was unsure about any such things. He had also tried to find the same to know more about it but nothing was ever clear. He also said, that though they have found it now, but won’t be digging it further as the way ahead may have been destroyed in metro & sewer construction works.
It was also heard that there is a hanging room somewhere around here. However, no one had ever seen it. But, now, after 75 years of independence we have found the room, where freedom fighters were hanged. We are trying to convert the same into a shrine and will try to open it for tourists by 15th August, 2022.
