Bhubaneswar: August 17: A special squad of Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested a young man for cheating students by asking them to enroll in various Medical & Engineering colleges.

The arrested accused is Sumit Kumar Bishwal of Naranpur in Jajpur district. Sumat was mainly trapping rich students with low marks in his net. As alleged, he swindled lakhs of rupees from them, committing to enroll them in major colleges abroad and within the country.

Before this also, there are cases against Sumit in different Police Stations of Bhubaneswar while Lingaraj police station alone has four complaints.

DCP Umashankar Das assigned the task of investigation to the Special Squad.

Police found out that Sumit was living in Kolkata on fraudulent money and was living a life of luxury.

So a team from the Special Squad went to Calcutta. Police were monitoring the hotel where Sumit was staying in Calcutta. However, it was learned that Sumit had tried to flee to Odisha on Sunday. Police chased him and arrested him near the Kolkata-Odisha border.
