BMC Congress Corporator arrested

Berhampur , March 17: The police Wednesday arrested R Murali Mohan, the Congress corportor of Berhampur Municipal Corporation, in connection with a land grabbing case.

Murali, a corporator of ward no.5, is a close associates of arrested former MLA (Sanakhemundi) Ramesh Jena.

The ex-MLA allegedly grabbed a prime residential land at Gandhi Nagar in the BMC jurisdiction from an individual by threatening him.

Former MLA, his father Arakhita Jena, two builders Bighnesh Sahu and Babula Sahani, were also allegedly involved in the land grabbing case. While Ramesh and his father have already been arrested, Sahanai remained at large.

The accused were arrested on the basis of complaints by Amarendra Patra, the land owner, SP (Berhampur) Sarthak Sarangi.
