In collaboration with Helpage India, the CSR arm of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has rolled out a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to bring basic health care services to the doorsteps of Paradeep’s outskirt villages.
The MMU is outfitted with a sphygmomanometer blood pressure machine, weighing machine, and other cutting-edge medical equipment and medications. It is staffed by a certified doctor, a pharmacist, and an attendant.
Five days a week, locals of all ages will be able to take advantage of the Mobile Medical Unit’s free, basic medical care and medications.
The people from Nuagarh, Baldia, Singitala, Paradeepgarh, Mushadia,Chakradharpur, Handia, Bhutmundei, Pipal, Barei and Bimanasi will get benefited via this project.
Suresha G, Executive Director of AM/NS India’s Odisha facility, formally launched the MMU. The company’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Dr. Vikas Yadevendu, was there, as was his Lead CSR (CSR) Sri Debasish Swain.
On the occasion, Suresha G said, “Healthcare is one of the core thrust areas of our CSR activities. With an aim to promote wellness and preventive healthcare, we make all efforts to provide basic medical facilities to villagers who need medical assistance and the launch of today’s MMU is one more step in this regard”.
AM/NS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the world’s leading steel manufacturing organisations.
