Bhubaneswar: September 27: Three bike-borne miscreants attacked a lone girl Chinmayee Bhuyan at around 9.30 pm on Sunday in Unit 9 area of Bhubaneswar when she was on her way to home.
Miscreants snatched her mobile phone and gold jewellery while she was speaking over phone. She chased the miscreants for around three kilometres and dashed her scooter with their bike. The snatchers fell down and left leaving their bike on the spot.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena hailed her courage to take on the goons and felicitated yesterday. Commissionerate Police has registered a case and is trying to nab the culprits. Commissioner YB Khurania also hailed the brave Odisha girl and said, ‘She has set an example for others as how to defend self ‘.
