Body of Class-X student recovered
After around 15 hours of operation, the team of fire services personnel, on Monday, traced the body of Jyoti Prakash Behera from a drain near Panchasakha Nagar in Bhubaneswar.
The Class-X student of Satabdi Nagar area ‘Jyoti Prakash Behera’, had gone missing after he fell into the drain while going to attend tuition classes on a bicycle.
Boy’s family have identified the body at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.
Getting information, Fire Brigade Personnel, Bhubaneswar Police with local residents went for massive search to trace the Boy. But, Sunday they could not trace him. On Monday, they traced the Boy, but he was dead.
Opposition Political Parties and locals blamed local civic administration for the mishap. They said, due to gross negligence and mismanagement of local administration, people have to face this type of incidents.
Earlier also, this sort of incident had happened in Bhubaneswar City. In 2015, a nine-year-old student Pupun Biswal from Behera Sahi area in Nayapali had died as he was washed away in an open drain. A child was also killed in a similar accident in 2018.
