Chhattisgarh’s ‘Ram Van Gaman Path Tourist Circuit Project’ shall begin on on the auspicious occasion of Navaratri on October 7. As believed, Ram, Lakshman and Sita spent most of the their 14-year exile from Ayodhya in the forests of Chhattisgarh.
State is filled up with many narratives and stories related to their staying in Chhattisgarh Forests. These are not the stories or narratives built up in the current days, but it has been passed on through generations among the people of the State.
Not only narratives & stories, but also many songs inspired by Lord Ram have been narrated and sung in communities here and passed on through generations.
The state is the ‘Nanihal’ (mother’s birth home) of Ram. Prince Ram was carefully nurtured by his mother’s love and became Maryada Purushotam here only.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, ‘Lord Ram spent most of his time here during his exile from Ayodhya. To preserve the memories linked to Lord Ram and Mata Kaushalya, the government has developed this project where devotees and tourists will be able to feel the essence of divinity with every step they take on Ram Van Path Gaman Tourism Circuit’.
Ancient Kaushalya Mata Mandir, located in Chandkhuri village which is approximately 25 km away from Raipur will the celebration venue this year. During the event, dance, music, a laser show shall present the story of Lord Ram and his exile in Chhattisgarh.
The whole intention of Chhattisgarh government is aimed at presenting the State as an exciting destination for international as well as domestic tourists.
As informed by Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, it is planning to develop the nine spots that fall on the forested route that Shri Ram traversed. These sites include Sitamarhi- Harchowka, Ramgarh, Shivrinarayan, Turturiya, Chandkhuri, Rajim, Sihawa, Jagdalpur, and Ramaram.
