Puri, Dec 23: Although it was rejected a few days back, the design of the portal box framing of the Jagmohan of Shri Jagannath temple prepared by the Core committee of the State government, has finally been approved by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). A letter in this regard has been sent to the secretary of the Odisha’s Work department by the ASI DG. Alongwith this, the ASI has urged to know about the estimate of the steel frame in the letter.
On approving the design, the ASI DG requested to complete the work soon, informed Prasanna Kumar Hota, Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The repair work will be speeding up henceforth, he further added.
Initially the ASI had disagreed with the design and had said that it would not issue a no-risk certificate if the repair work is done as per the rejected design.
