Mumbai, Dec 8: England ran a good innings on the first day of the 4th test match with India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England at stumps is at 288, losing 5 wickets on the day 1.
Debutant Keaton Jennings’s astonishing 112 and Cook and Mo’ Ali’s 46 and 50 respectively helped England reach 288. Root and Bairstow still tried to hit more but were caught by Kohli and Umesh respectively.
Though played at Mumbai without a Mumbaikar in the team, the Indian team managed to take 5 wickets after England’s continuous dominance on day one. As said, the pitch turned to be unturned, but Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s magical hand turned the balls as Bairstow, Root, Ali and even Jennings failed to balance on the stumps.
Stokes and Buttler will resume the game from tomorrow with Stokes at 25 and the later at 18.
