Bolangir, Mar 16: In an untoward situation, the Bolangir Police has today arrested 4 woman in charges of hemp trafficking. The women who were detained last night out of suspicion at the Bolangir Government bus stand by the police, possessed about 20 kgs of hemp along with nearly rupees one lakh cash. Police have seized the hemp and cash from them in the presence of a magistrate and has also initiated a probe to find out more about the illegal activity and the mastermind behind it.
Notably the women being the sole bread owner in the family, have taken such step. They have been involved in this trafficking since some time and are getting paid Rs 30,000 for trafficking hemp each time, said source.
On asking about their employers, the young women said that, the employers contact these women and do not mention their name.
