Kirpal Singh’s body brought to India

Attari (Amritsar), April 20: The body of Indian prisoner Kripal Singh who died under mysterious circumstances in Pakistani prison, arrived here on Tuesday.

However, his family was shocked to find the heart and stomach missing from the body.

The missing organs were noticed during the postmortem examination, doctors said adding no internal or external injury marks were noticed on the body.

Notably, Kirpal’s family has alleged that he was tortured to death in prison and debunked the reason furnished by Pakistan jail authorities were not convincing.

Kirpal’s family members, including his sister Jagir Kaur, Punjab Cabinet Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike and Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Varun Roojam, besides other senior officials, received the body when it reached the Wagha border.

Dalbir Kaur, sister of another Indian Sarabjit Singh, who too had died in a Pakistani jail in May 2013, was also present.

Kirpal Singh had allegedly entered Pakistan inadvertently in 1992 and was arrested. He was later sentenced to death in a serial bomb blasts case in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
