Malkangiri, Oct 6: Yesterday a barbaric act could be witnessed in Malkangiri district when Maoists shot a villager to death and another one to be severely injured. It’s stated that these Red Rebels fired these two villagers who belonged to the Jantri village during the afternoon. These two victims had been kidnapped by these Maoists two days back. More details are awaited.

Notably on Saturday thousands of villagers of six panchayats of the district had gathered at the Jantri village under Andrapalli panchayat in the cut-off region in response to call given by the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zone Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist). These Maoists at the meet demanded the villagers to boycott panchayat polls and oppose the setting up of the BSF camp, anti-Maoist operations and not to lay down arms.
